ARGENTINA - JANUARY 05 - 15, 2027 (SMALL GROUP)

$3,400.00

Argentina remains a massive, little-known and poorly explored swath of boiling biodiversity. Our targets here include the yellow anaconda, South American rattlesnake, false water cobra, tri-colored hognose snake(!), several Bothrops, and literally hundreds of other species. We can guarantee you haven’t heard of them all.

We will work our way across 3 staggeringly unique ecoregions, all boasting their own specially evolved herpetofauna. This expedition is remote and rugged, though the lodging boasts surprisingly snug amenities. Argentina is an exploratory mission, so we will only be allowing 3 guests to join on this scouting operation. This is the furthest south that we have ever run an expedition.

Bañado La Estrella (Formosa) – A seasonal floodplain that shifts between wetlands and flooded forests. Shallow water, dense vegetation, and thousands of palm trees create a dynamic and unique ecosystem. THIS IS PERFECT HABITAT FOR YELLOW ANACONDAS AND FLASE WATER COBRAS.

MUCH OF OUR HERPING WILL BE DONE ON REMOTE DIRT ROADS. THIS STRATEGY COMBINED WITH SEARCHING ON FOOT CAN BE EXTREMELY EFFECTIVE IN ARGENTINA.

The tricolored hognose (Xenodon pulcher) is a small, fossorial dipsadid distinguished by a sharply upturned rostral scale, bold red, black, and cream tri-banded pattern, and coral snake mimicry. it is one of our top targets.

From the adorable, amphibious likes of Argentina’s incredible “Rana Mono Encerada” (Phyllomedusa sauvagii), to cryptic venomous elapids such as the argentinian coral snake (Micrurus pyrrhocryptus) and voracious eaters reminiscent of african bullfrogs (known as Lepidobatrachus laevis); Argentina boasts AN insurmountable SWATHE OF gems worthy of appreciation & protection.

Meet the LEAD GUIDE.

Originally from Argentina, Marcos left home years ago to explore the Amazon Rainforest, working across Peru and Suriname in ecotourism and research, gaining hands-on experience and a deep understanding of its ecosystems.

Over time, he naturally specialized in reptiles and amphibians- combining scientific knowledge with practical field experience. Working in some of the most demanding and biodiverse regions on Earth shaped both his expertise and commitment to conservation.

Today, Marcos’ work spans both the Amazon and Argentina — sharing wild landscapes and extraordinary wildlife through immersive, thoughtfully crafted expeditions.

His goal is simple: to offer immersive experiences that connect people with wildlife in a meaningful way.

WE HOPE TO SEE YOU OUT THERE.
